Luke Ending The Jedi: 10 Things It Could Mean For Star Wars VIII
1. New Threats To The Galaxy
Disney appears set on making Star Wars movies indefinitely, and why wouldn't it, seen as it's on a roll with the saga's revival and paid all that money to own the rights?
With this in mind, the Star Wars universe will be a very different place after the sequel trilogy has run its course, as the removal of the Jedi-Sith dichotomy changes everything.
With the Force in balance and the Sith consigned to the history books, the Star Wars movies set beyond this new timeline are going to need some new threats which exist outside of the Force.
Filmmakers will find a lot of compelling ones in the extended universe canon, like the Yuuzhan Vong, an alien race from beyond the galaxy which almost destroyed the New Republic during an invasion many generations back.
Threats like these which raise the stakes without any connection to the Force or the Dark Side are what the fans can expect from Star Wars villainy when the saga starts to expand beyond the current sequel trilogy.
