Mad Max: Fury Road - 20 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes & References
13. Max's Look And Wheels
It's debatable whether Max's familiar look actually counts as an Easter Egg, but it's at least good to see that Miller chose to stick so closely to the character design (particularly when "redos" like Robocop went so revisionist).
He's wearing the same leather jacket (for at least part of the film), including the missing sleeve that was removed after his arm was run over by a bike, and he's also still got the same leg brace as Mel Gibson sported after being shot in the original Mad Max.
He also starts the film with a similarly shaggy hairstyle as he has at the start of Beyond Thunderdome.
Unsurprisingly Max's iconic V8 Interceptor also appears - albeit surprisingly briefly - at the outset of the film, making this the third Mad Max film that the car is on the cast list (and the second that it's totalled after the booby trap explosion in Road Warrior).
