Mad Max: Fury Road Trailer Breakdown - 10 Things You Need To See

2. Everybody's Gone Out Of Their Mind

That's another quote from that mysterious voiceover narration €“ what is this, Star Wars: The Force Awakens? - and one that certainly seems to apply to every bit of insane action that's seen in this trailer. The scavengers appear to have taken it up a notch in terms of how unhinged they are, what with the suicide bombers and even more impracticable vehicles and outfits, not to mention how dangerous setting off all those explosives near a huge truck carrying oil is. It's almost like they aren't professional truckers or something. It's a quote that applies just as much to the €œgood€ characters in the trailer, though, too. Charlize Theron's Imperator Furiosa looks in line to be our protagonist, but even she is a slightly off-looking woman who executes some daring/crazy driving manoeuvres. Then there's Tom Hardy's character who, come on, is called Mad Max. He may not have earned that nickname at the start of the film, but you can bed he will have done by the end. But it isn't just the cast of Fury Road who can be said to have gone out of their mind. From the looks of it, the whole world's gone crazy €“ and that includes the actual world itself. That opening bit of narration tells us that humanity has run out of water, and then there's the epic shot of the huge sandstorm dwarfing the convoy. The environment, the people, is there any sanity left?
