Mad Max: Fury Road Trailer Breakdown - 10 Things You Need To See
6. Charlize Theron As Imperator Furiosa
None more is that evident than in the interactions between Mad Max and Charlize Theron's character in this trailer. If Tom Hardy looks like he's not the real hero of this film, then it's Theron's Imperator Furiosa that's stepping into his shoes. What she lacks in an easily pronounceable Furisoa makes up for in taking charge of situations, being the one who tells Max to get up and run (if he can) after he face plants down in the desert, presumably having been taken prisoner. Information is still light on the ground with regards to who Furiosa actually is, but it looks like she's going to be pretty integral to the plot. The very thin premise that premièred along with that San Diego Comic-Con teaser trailer noted that In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, loner Max meets Furiosa, a woman who wishes to cross the desert, so it looks like the whole film is going to be about her and Max teaming up. But seriously, doesn't it seem like it's more Max that needs her help, and not the other way around? With her last big role being in the unfortunate Alien prequel turkey Prometheus, it's about time Charlize Theron got back on that blockbuster horse. And from the looks of it Furiosa is exactly the part to do that with, a shaven-headed badass who is under no allusions as to the state of the world. Out here everything hurts. You want to get through this? she asks mid-way through the new trailer Do as I say. SO COOL.
