Making A Murderer: 12 Documentaries To Binge-Watch Next

2. The Staircase (2004-2013)

The Staircase comes in two parts; the original 2004 documentary and the 2013 follow up - both worthy of entries on this list.

A quiet and calm night at home soon turns fatal for Author, Michael Peterson when his wife, according to his story, trips and dies on the home staircase. He's soon arrested and charged with her murder, a charge that he firmly denies.

Tracing the home life of the suspect during his trial and defence case, revelations soon begin to appear that strongly cast doubt on his story and then suddenly, as a viewer, you begin to wonder if you've been sympathising with a killer all along.

Where can you see it? You can see the trailer below and currently watch both films on Vimeo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-W-S6kQ1mc
