Making A Murderer: 12 Documentaries To Binge-Watch Next

1. Serial (2014)

Alright, this entry is actually a podcast, but hear me out. Over twelve episodes and week-by-week, journalist Sarah Koenig investigates the case and trial of the immensely likeable Adnan Syed, charged with the murder of his high school ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee in 1999. What she uncovers is a list of inconsistencies in the initial investigation that tear her back and forth between whether she thinks Adnan is guilty or innocent. With incredible access to trial notes and interviews with many friends and family of both Adnan and Hae Min Lee - as well as Adnan himself - you cannot disregard this as anything but crucial listening. It's no spoiler to say that Adnan is still in prison today - this is stated in the very first episode - but what makes this story so exciting is the fact that Adnan is currently in the process of an appeal and Sarah Koenig is posting companion podcast episodes of all developments, as they happen. Where can I listen to it? You can see a trailer below and stream the entire season, plus the extra episodes, at the Serial Website - https://serialpodcast.org/season-one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8f7FqyOjOc
