Making A Murderer: 12 Documentaries To Binge-Watch Next

4. Dear Zachary: A Letter To A Son About His Father (2008)

In 2001, Andrew Bagby was senselessly murdered on his way to work, and soon after, his girlfriend announced that she was having Andrew€™s baby, to be later named Zachary. As a gift to Zachary, Kurt Kuenne, a close friend, decided to make a film about his father. What he captured was the impending murder case, which implicated Zachary€™s mother, who fled to Newfoundland, the family€™s anguish and a custody lawsuit between Zachary€™s freed mother and Andrew€™s parents. It€™s difficult to say much more without spoiling what transpires, but one thing is certain; you should see this film before reading about the case, as the revelations are stunning. If you were told to expect a sad story and tribute of a good man to his son, you would have been undersold, as the story develops to a harrowing crescendo. Where can you see it?
