3. The Brutal Gore

Anyone who feels that Wan's Conjuring movies have been a little too restrained on the violence front will surely leave Malignant satisfied at its generous platter of gore on offer.

The many, many kills throughout the film - and especially in its third act - leave little to the imagination, Wan festooning the screen with blood as Gabriel destroys anyone who stands in his way.

While the kills themselves aren't massively creative for the most part, the grotesque bodily manipulation and savagely ruthless blood-letting are sure to keep the gore-hounds happy.

If you're going to make a trashy, deeply messy movie, you may as well go the full gonzo hog, right? And that Wan certainly does. Speaking of which...
