Malin Akerman cast in Watchmen!

Latino Review are telling us that hottie Malin Akerman has been cast as Laurie Juspeczyk (a.k.a The Silk Spectre) in Watchmen. I have to admit I didn't know who she was but apparently she starred in the HBO series The Comeback and she might be more recognizable in the months to come as she has roles in The Invasion and the Ben Stiller comedy The Heartbreak Kid.

Laurie was once known as the hero Silk Spectre when superheroes were once allowed to roam the streets. Now after superheroes were forced by the government to give up their crimefighting, Laurie resides with the very blue and very naked Dr. Manhattan.

I'll reserve judgment because I have no idea who she is but I like the look of her and the role requires someone who i pretty. She does need to be able to act too though, in the novel she has some extremely powerful scenes which will require some depth from her. Latino Review are nearly always right on the money and I'm willing to go along with them. They are also confirming that Jackie Earle Haley and Billy Crudrup are in the flick and I'm personally convinced that Patrick Wilson has been cast, so you put that together with the Gerard Butler cameo... and there's only a couple more roles to fill.
