3. Meryl Streep's Glorified Cameo

The big mystery surrounding the Mamma Mia sequel has been the presence - or rather, lack thereof - of the previous film's illustrious star, Meryl Streep.

With the trailers scarcely featuring the acting legend and even hinting at the possibility of her character, Donna, having died since the last film, fans will be going into the movie not really knowing what to expect.

Well, we won't spoil the nature of Streep's role in the film, but it's fair to say you shouldn't hope to see much of her.

Her screen time amounts to around five minutes in total, and though the film survives just fine without her, it's definitely a shame the production couldn't find a way to accommodate her schedule and give her a more substantial part.
