If you're going to watch a Mamma Mia movie and complain that it's too "silly" or "cheesy", you're kinda missing the point. The first film revelled in its campy absurdity and the fact that its cast members weren't classically trained - looking at you, Pierce Brosnan - and the sequel basically takes this even further.

It is a quintessential "no f***s given" sequel, and almost entirely in a good way. No gag is too daft here, with the film being so committed to its harmless silliness that it's hard not to crack a smile even when a gag doesn't totally land.

It doesn't try to be something it isn't and just thoroughly embraces everything people have always loved about ABBA.
