Man Of Steel 2: 7 Villains We Really Need To See
3. Cyborg Superman
Another terminator-esque
villain makes the list!
Hank Henshaw is a NASA scientist that loses his wife and body to radiation poisoning after Superman throws a villain into the sun, causing a deadly solar flare. Before his body totally decomposes, Henshaw transfers his brain patterns to the birthing matrix that carried Kal-El to earth. Using a combination of Kryptonian technology and Superman’s DNA, Henshaw forges a new body for himself in the image of Superman with all of his abilities as well as control over all machinery on earth.
Capitalising on the death of Superman at the hands of Doomsday, the Cyborg Superman impersonates the Man of Steel, trying to destroy the hero’s image one mission at a time. This concept works particularly well in DCEU continuity considering that Superman has only just won over the public after sacrificing himself against Doomsday.
With Superman confirmed to be returning in the latter parts of Justice League, the Man of Steel sequel could pick up with Kal-El returning to Metropolis only to find this imposter Superman committing horrific acts in his name. An unhinged mind combined with an apathy towards life make Hank Henshaw a deadly villain and another twisted take on the worlds greatest superhero.
