Man Of Steel 2: 7 Villains We Really Need To See

4. Parasite

Superman Man Of Steel Braniac
DC Comics

Many characters have taken the Parasite title over the 78 years of Superman’s publication, but whether it's Rudy Jones or Raymond Maxwell, there is however one constant – he tends to be a simple man at the wrong place at the wrong time. A janitor bombarded by the bio hazardous waste collected by Superman in space, the Parasite obtains the ability to drain the energy, knowledge and personality from any living being with a simple touch. Over time he becomes weakened and lethargic if not feeding off of an energy source, causing him to become addicted to draining the life force of others.

There is no greater treat for Parasite than absorbing Superman’s incredible energies and although he finds it impossible to totally deplete the Man Of Steel, it certainly evens the playing field when they inevitably come to blows. In fact when Parasite does drain Superman’s life force, he transforms into a hulking purple beast, complete with teeth H.R Giger would be jealous of.

Parasite provides a unique visual and physical challenge for Superman forcing the Man of Steel to use his largest muscle if he's to survive – his brain. Parasite eventually ends up imprisoned and used by General Sam Lane.
