2. The Nolan Factor
Let me start by saying that Christopher Nolan is an auteur. His films have a distinct and intelligent flavor to them. Christopher Nolan's vision resurrected the Batman films, turning the property into one of Warner Bros. most lucrative franchises. The reason why his films are so successful is because the studio found an artist, provided him with adequate resources to execute his vision, and allowed him to work with minimal interference. In such a creatively liberating environment, good work is bound to come out. With the box office dominance of The Dark Knight Trilogy, it would be a shame if the unique Nolan formula is used on all upcoming DC adaptations. Any attempt to replicate his methods is a bad idea because that particular style was tailored to the filmmaker and the story he was telling. This would not only be a blow to artistic freedom, but also create a sense of bland uniformity in DC's movies. Wouldn't it be better to find fresh, upcoming and talented directors, with their own unique style and passion, to tackle the likes of The Flash or Wonder Woman?
