You know how you're really looking forward to Batman v Superman? You know how it's going to get everyone talking next year and will probably be given a fantastic critical reception? Well it might pay you to remember that the only reason it even exists is because Man Of Steel set it up. Those things you complained about - like the aforementioned destruction of Metropolis - that's why Batman is so p*ssed at Superman. That's why the very concept of this movie is even a thing. That's what allowed two comic book titans to finally meet in combat on the big screen. So, when you're watching Batman v Superman and revelling in its awesomeness - and indeed when you're watching every subsequent movie in the DCEU franchise - don't forget to tip your hat towards that movie you spent so much time moaning about.
