Mark Ruffalo To Play Jazz Pianist Joe Albany in LOW DOWN

Once Mark Ruffalo is done getting all green and angry this summer as The Hulk in The Avengers - his first summer blockbuster gig - the now Oscar nominated actor will quickly return to the kind of low-radar, dramatic turns that make up the majority of his career. And hell, now he has a taste for Oscar, what better way to increase your chances than starring in a biopic of a musician? Variety say that Ruffalo has signed on to portray charismatic jazz pianist Joe Albany in a biopic based on his daughter Amy Albany's memoirs €œLow Down: Junk, Jazz, and Other Fairy Tales From Childhood€. Told from then 11 year old Amy's perspective, 'Low Down' will chronicle Albany's career from the 60's and 70's whilst coming to grips and often failing, with his drug addiction, leading him to eventually live in seclusion in Europe. Watch this video of Albany below and Ruffalo seems perfect casting. Close your eyes, you can hear what Ruffalo's performance could be... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZxHgSg0x2M Commercials director Jeff Preiss will make his feature debut with Low Down, setup at Epoch Films, and now looks favourite to be Ruffalo's next project after The Avengers is completed late this year.
