Binarily Augmented Retro-Framing (B.A.R.F.) is perhaps the most underappreciated piece of technology in the history of the MCU.

The system was created by Quentin Beck, working for Stark Industries. It was undeniably impressive, a hologram projection program more advanced than any other on Earth but oddly, Stark decided not to widely distribute this tech, instead giving it an embarrassing, degrading name and using it only as a way to therapeutically talk to holograms of his parents...

This misuse of a device that could fundamentally change the entertainment industry and frankly, the whole world was so insulting that Quentin Beck lost his mind and declared a secret vendetta against Tony. Finally, at least someone was standing up to the tech-hoarder himself.

The B.A.R.F. technology was able to trick an entire town into seeing something that wasn't there. Surely Stark must have seen the potential of a device like this. Maybe he simply feared that as a possibility, but we'll never know for sure.
