Marvel: 10 Most Underused Technologies In The MCU

9. Spider-Man's Webs

Spider-Man's web-shooters are an incredible feat of engineering. They were created by Spider-Man himself, Peter Parker using nothing but materials found around the house and his high school chemistry class. The webs themselves were just a simple chemical mixture propelled by CO2 before Iron Man got involved.

This tells us that it would be incredibly easy to mass-produce the web-shooting technology. It would be the perfect non-lethal weapon for law enforcement, being able to fire a completely harmless, sticky material that can painlessly capture any violent criminal. Once the person was apprehended the webs would simply dissolve after a few hours.

Obviously, not everyone has Peter's Spidey-sense so their application would be limited to things like fire suppression rather than web-slinging over buildings but it seems odd that we never see any practical applications of this highly durable, lightweight, slowly dissolving material that Peter invented. It makes one wonder if Mr. Parker might be hoarding the patent for himself.
