Marvel Cinematic Universe: 10 Best Female Villains

4. Jiaying

MCu Villains
ABC

Appeared In: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Up to this point in this list, none of the villains have had quite the lasting, universal impact on the MCU - at least not yet, anyway - that Jiaying had. Wife to Cal and mother to Daisy, Jiaying's experiences being tortured, mutilated, and even left for dead by Daniel Whitehall during World War II and again at the end of the 1980s left her scarred forever.

Though she became the leader of Afterlife, the Inhuman sanctuary, and seemed to be content with their isolation, it wasn't until S.H.I.E.L.D. showed up on her doorstep that her true nature was exposed. Though we had been led to believe that he wanted to start trouble with the Inhumans, Robert Gonzales revealed in a one-on-one meeting with Jiaying that all he wanted was peace, even going so far as to return to her a necklace that Whitehall had stolen long ago, only for Jiaying to kill him, shoot herself to make it look like self-defense, and kick off what she wanted: War.

Desiring nothing more than to wipe out humanity with the Terrigen crystals, Jiaying nearly got her wish, stopped only by the combined efforts of Daisy and Cal, the latter killing his beloved. Of course, while humanity wasn't wiped out, many crystals were lost in the ocean, contaminating fish that went on to be turned into fish oil pills that created a whole new generation of Inhumans, allowing Jiaying's legacy to live on even now as the show heads into its fifth season.
