Marvel Cinematic Universe: 10 Best Villains Of 2018 So Far

7. Kilgrave

Thanos Killmonger
Netflix

Appeared in: Jessica Jones - Season 2

It's hard to deny that David Tennant's Kilgrave was one of the brightest spots of Jessica Jones' first season and of the Netflix corner of the MCU as a whole, the character still considered one of the best villains of the overall franchise to this day despite only appearing (and meeting his end) back in 2015.

His death and exit from the series meant that season two had a huge void to fill in his wake, and say what you will about whether or not the season managed to pull that off this year, the character's brief return in the episode "AKA Three Lives and Counting" demonstrated just how important he was to the show's success in the first place.

After Jessica killed Dale Holiday, Kilgrave returned to haunt and taunt her, gleefully pushing her buttons over the fact she had committed another murder.

Unfortunately, just as soon as he resurfaced, he was gone, but his appearance in that single episode was highly memorable, demonstrative of the fact that Jessica will never truly be able to shake Kilgrave's impact on her life.

Tennant's wicked charm was infectious as always, the character just as magnetic to watch as he was the first time around even without being "real," and hopefully the confirmed third season - whenever it may air - can find a way to continue keeping him in the fold.
