Marvel Cinematic Universe: 10 Small Moments That Would Make A Huge Impact

6. A S.H.I.E.L.D. Logo In Space

Guardians of the Galaxy is set to be released in August of this year and it's fair to say that almost everyone is pretty stoked about it. Of course, there are doubts and reservations about how something so "Star Wars-esq" might fit in with the Marvel Cinematic Universe that we've seen so far but, given that Marvel have got almost everything right with the franchise up to this point, we'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Innocent until proven guilty and all that. Nobody quite knows exactly how it's all going to go down, or how (or even if) it will connect to the stories we've seen thus far. One way to do it, however, would be to give S.H.I.E.L.D. a cosmic presence. S.H.I.E.L.D. are Earth's foremost line of defence against the worst scum in the universe (eat your hearts out, Men in Black), as seen when they formed the Avengers to fight Loki's alien army and when Nick Fury, Captain America and Black Widow et al rose up against HYDRA's infiltration to save 20 million people from certain death (and as seen on a weekly basis in the ongoing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. television series). It would be awesome (and it wouldn't even need to be verbally referenced) just to see a S.H.I.E.L.D. logo in outer space - whether it be on a vehicle, a piece of equipment or a uniform - in Guardians of the Galaxy, just so we know they have a presence in space and are aware of the movie's events. It will be a clear indication that the movie's events aren't standing alone and will have implications in the future for the likes of Captain America, Nick Fury and Black Widow.
