Marvel Cinematic Universe: 11 Films To Expect In Phase 4
6. Black Panther 2
Considering the staggering critical and commercial success that Black Panther basked in last year, along with the fact it was nominated for (and won) a few Academy Awards, there's little doubt that a sequel is coming sooner rather than later. Writer/director Ryan Coogler has been confirmed to return for months now, and it's likely that we'll see the sequel hit theaters in the slated February 12, 2021 slot to try and repeat the first film's success.
Of course, it would come as no surprise to see pretty much all of the remaining cast from the first film return for the next go-round, but the biggest question really rests on who the film's villain - or villains - turn out to be, as the first film swept through adapting some of T'Challa's biggest comic book enemies: Killmonger, Ulysses Klaue, and M'Baku, as well as giving Bucky the White Wolf moniker.
A villain like Achebe could prove to be quite an interesting foe, but if the sequel really wants to crank things up a notch and show us something in the MCU we haven't seen before, it would be to introduce Namor and the kingdom of Atlantis. By having the two nations go to war with one another, T'Challa would face a unique challenge befitting his leadership role as king clashes against king, all while establishing Namor for his own future in the MCU.
Wherever Coogler and the MCU decides to go with it, however, it's certain that the sequel is going to face an incredible amount of hype when it finally does arrive.
