Once Loki dies, what better way to finalise his redemption than to reincarnate him - that's what happens to the major characters in Asgard after they've died - and make the new character young, innocent and on the path to becoming an outright hero? In the comic books, Loki died at the hands (or tendrils) of the Void, when he had been trying to fight the powerful entity alongside Earth's heroes. He apologised to Thor for all of his misdemeanours and atrocities as he was being torn apart, but was soon found to have been reincarnated in the form a street hustler in Paris. It didn't take long for him to find the right path, however, and he joined the Young Avengers. This would be a really cool arc to see in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and would allow the character to start afresh as a force of genuine goodness.
