12. Sif Thinking The Destroyer Was Defeated - (Thor)
When the Destroyer was sent to Earth by Loki to stop the Warriors Three from retrieving Thor from exile, Sif's plan to defeat it was somewhat flawed. She took to the rooftops of the small New Mexico town she was in and attacked the Destroyer from above. Acrobatically jumping down on to it, she rammed her spear in to its back so hard that it came out through its chest. Sif then let out a satisfied, smug smile as if to say "mission accomplished". But why? Not only is the Destroyer a suit of magically-powered armour - it has no vital organs or even mechanical parts - but it is also enormously powerful and such wounds very rarely defeat powerful living beings, let alone powerful suits of armour. Predictably (from a non-Asgardian point of view, obviously), the armour wasn't defeated and it almost instantly recovered from the attack and continued with its rampage.
