Marvel Cinematic Universe: 5 Reasons The Savage Land Should Be Introduced

5. We've Been Expecting It

Ever since Iron Man 2, keen-eyed Marvel fans have anticipated the possibility of seeing the Savage Land in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There was a scene in which Tony Stark opened a case that belonged to his father, Howard. Inside that case was the first Captain America comic book, a home video, a journal and blueprints for the original arc reactor. The more eagle-eyed viewers will also have noticed a satellite photo and a map of Antarctica. On that map you can see an area annotated that matches up with the Savage Land's location in Marvel Comics continuity. This makes a lot of sense because, in the comics, S.H.I.E.L.D. have operations €“ such as the mining of vibranium, which is the fictional material used to make Captain America's shield €“ going on in the Savage Land. There are also a number of characters who are already present in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, such as Thanos and the Avengers, who have had connections the Savage Land in the comic books. However, it's the sheer potential for an aesthetically superb cinematic treat that really makes us think we'll see the Savage Land on screen soon. It would look absolutely amazing thanks to the glorious landscapes and weird and wonderful creatures that dwell there, so don't be surprised if this amazing place gets the movie treatment.
