The likable, hard-nosed journalist who seemed to be inching ever closer to being the one to expose Wilson Fisk in the public eye paid the ultimate consequence for visiting Fisk's mother in The Ones We Leave Behind when he found Fisk in his apartment.

Standing up for himself and masking Karen's involvement, Urich held an increasingly tense conversation with Fisk, during which Fisk expressed his respect for Urich. However, Fisk's rage eventually came to the surface he strangled the great character to death in a moment few likely saw coming.
