The good-natured hero and valued asset to the team met his untimely end within the Lost City during the events of What They Become. Enclosed with Raina, Skye and the Diviner as the object began Terrigenesis, Trip attempted to destroy it to protect them.

For his efforts, Trip received a piece of the Diviner in his stomach. Skye was forced to helplessly watch as her friend underwent petrification and crumbled, with his death continuing to be felt even as the second season edges closer to its finale.
