Marvel Cinematic Universe: Definitive Guide To Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And Foreshadowing

Iron Man 2

Widely regarded as the weakest MCU movie (and the closest the series has come to a genuinely bad entry), Iron Man 2 is more a victim of where it came in the franchise than anything else. The coming years had the introduction of two lesser known heroes, as well as the long-teased team-up, and Marvel wanted to suitably set this all up, rewriting the standalone script to be greater acknowledge the emergent universe. This ultimately all comes across a little blatant, overwhelming an already stretched story. But while this hurts the movie's quality, it has the fan-welcome side effect of providing some proper pieces of wider-universe foreshadowing; on top of the first film's attention to comic detail, there's tangible hints towards the likes of Captain America, Thor and, most amazingly, Black Panther.
