Marvel Cinematic Universe: Definitive Guide To Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And Foreshadowing

Guardians Of The Galaxy

7. The 12% Plan Nods To The Avengers

When Star-Lord claims he has 12% of a plan, he's providing one of the film's tangible links to The Avengers; that same percentage was used by Pepper Potts as a flirty rebuttal against Tony Stark, "I was having 12% of a moment."

6. Drax Makes A Super-Fan Comment

Drax may not be the best at understanding the intricacies of the English language, but don't ever think he's not observant. When he asks Groot where he learnt to create the fireflies, he's actually asking a meta question existing Guardians fans no doubt had; Groot had never displayed that ability before in the comics.

5. Yondu Is Archer In Comics

As if Yondu couldn't get any cooler (he's played by Michael Rooker after all), his weapon of choice is an arrow he controls by whistling. This isn't a power the character's shown previously, but it is somewhat in keeping with the comics; there Yondu's a straight archer. Think Hawkeye, but blue. And cooler.

4. Hidden Mickey With Three Suns

The film's second Hidden Mickey comes right at the very end as the Millano flies off into the distance - the three suns of Xandar align to make the classic mouse look.
