3. Daredevil: Season 2
On the surface, the narrative of Daredevil's second season of Daredevil saw somewhat of the same issue that plagued Luke Cage: Once Daredevil's conflict with Frank Castle was no longer the primary focus and The Hand plotline entered the picture in the back half of the season, the show then had to follow a multitude of different story threads that resulted in a relative loss of overall focus.
Despite that, though, the season was still an absolute blast to watch, the action - from the stairwell fight to Castle's ordeal in prison - as cool as ever. Matt, Foggy, Karen, Stick, and Claire were all back, Elektra was finally introduced, Wilson Fisk had a great reemergence that established the foundation for the show's eventual third season, and pieces were put into place for the grand scheme of The Defenders. In essence, there was a lot going on in the season, but it handled it pretty well despite its narrative issues, and once shows like Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders are all out, the season will likely be looked back on fondly for all the groundwork it laid down.
Of course, the highlight of the season wasn't even the show's own titular hero, but Jon Bernthal's Castle, who stole the show every time he was on screen. Whether it's the penny and dime scene in the graveyard or the courtroom scene or any other moment that's been lauded, Castle was the real star of the season, enough to elevate it to one of the MCU's best entries this year.
