Marvel Phase 3: 15 Outrageous Predictions That Could Change Everything
1. It's The Last Phase
The Prediction
As Kevin Feige has hinted recently, Infinity War and Avengers 4 might see the end of the current model for releasing Marvel films, with the period after Phase 3 no longer referred to as Phase 4 and the MCU no longer existing in Avengers-centric chapters.
The Implications
Though the Phased approach is a brand in its own right - and allows Disney to sell lucrative multi-move boxsets - it's hard not to think that the MCU having more freedom would be a smart move. That would mean we could get concurrent story events, without everything have to be capped by an Avengers movie, and it would mean we'd get more stand-alone movies free of the pressures of constantly tying back to the main storyline.
We should really herald this change as a great evolution, if it is to happen, as it might also mean we could get special events like Marvel Zombies, or more supernatural films like Blade that don't mess with the logic established in other movies.
