Marvel Phase 4: 10 Mistakes Marvel Studios Has Already Made

9. Black Widow Should Have Been Released On Digital

Today is May 1st, and that means Black Widow should now be in cinemas. Instead, as a result of current world events, the movie has been pushed back to November (the original release date for Eternals, a film now coming our way next February). Given what's happening, we're not even sure meeting that November date is possible, and that begs an important question.

Why hasn't it been released on Digital platforms? A Disney+ debut isn't overly realistic as the streaming service wasn't made to premiere films which cost hundreds of million of dollars to produce, but a Digital debut similar to the one we've seen for Trolls World Tour makes perfect business sense.

People are in desperate need of entertainment right now, and a Marvel movie like Black Widow would help lift spirits in a major way. Disney could have really made an impact by not holding on to the first Phase 4 movie, and following a VOD release with an early arrival on Disney+ (which is what's happened with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) could have been hugely beneficial to, well, everyone.
