Marvel Post-Credit Scenes - Ranked From Worst To Best

4. Captain America: Civil War (No. 1)

There's some post-credits scene that depreciate with time - after they've had their tease paid off, they're basically a trailer for a movie we've already got - but the ones that stick are those that introduce something so seismic, and do it in such a targeted, impressive way, they work regardless of whether you're getting hyped for the next movie or not. And while it's way too early to call, I'm going to say this is true of Civil War's mid-credits sting.

Why? Well, it's the proper introduction of Wakanda after being teased (albeit subtly) since Iron Man 2 in 2010. Yes, it also extends Bucky's journey, putting him on ice until the writers need him again, but that little narrative detail pales in comparison to getting to see the secret African nation and it's towering, vibranium Panther statues.

There's something overwhelming about seeing them emerge out of the fog, a feeling of something genuinely new in a world we seem to know so well. This is the "bigger universe" Nick Fury was talking about in Iron Man.

Oh, it also makes me want Black Panther now.
