Marvel Post-Credit Scenes - Ranked From Worst To Best

1. Iron Man

Marvel Studios

Ultimately, no matter how forward-thinking or teasing subsequent stings have been, nothing can compete with the franchise-creating moment from the end of the original Iron Man.

Despite its rather conventional trappings, Jon Favreau managed to do some very creative things with Marvel€™'s first movie as a standalone studio. Confining the hero to a cave for the first thirty minutes, the story took the Batman Begins mould and injected a bit of cheer, while the ending was a brilliant subversion of the tired secret-identity trope; when Robert Downey, Jr. uttered immortal words "€œI am Iron Man€", audiences were already on board for more.

Yet as if to say '€œyou ain€™'t seen nothing yet€', the post-credit scene gave a little more than expected. Stark returns to his Malibu home, only to find none other than Sam friggin€™ Jackson waiting for him. Fans hold their breath. "€œI'm here to talk to you about the Avenger Initiative."€ Cut to black.

Are they actually trying to do a big team-up? Can they possibly pull it off? Can you believe they got Samuel L. Jackson? Rewatching that scene brings back all the excitement and potential for the Marvel Cinematic Universe at its conception, reminding just what a massive undertaking the whole thing was.
