Marvel Post-Credit Scenes - Ranked From Worst To Best

12. Ant-Man (No. 1)

Marvel

Yup, Ant-Man's main post-credits scene is simultaneously a leap forward for the MCU and a frustrating reminder of the film we're just watched's weaknesses.

On the one hand it's paying off the father-daughter thread that's ran through the movie and establishing of what will now be the series' first female headliner, promising Evangeline Lilly will suit up as the Wasp in the film's sequel. But on the other it feels like purposely slow development; Ant-Man was a very compromised film care of its creative issues, and getting teased more interesting stuff at the very end feels a bit cheap.

It may also be a victim of increased expectations. The MCU has grown so big that a simple sequel hint just doesn't feel all that impressive any more - it's hardly expanding the universe, and while "It's about damn time," is a nice meta-commentary on the series, it feels rather when we're left with a three year wait for the next one.
