To be fair, it's not as though everything under Perlmutter and the Creative Committee's influence was restricting. James Gunn's distinct voice was all over Guardians Of The Galaxy, Captain Marvel was still announced for 2019 and a movie about Ant-Man still saw the light of day.
However, all one has to do is look at Age Of Ultron to see the inner conflict within Marvel Studios made real. Love it or hate it, it's hard to argue with the fact that huge chunks of Ultron still feel very much like a Joss Whedon project while being tampered with by clear studio influence like the inclusion of Thor's subplot.
With Feige now "in full control," the films ideally will become even more unique from one another, with future directors allowed to mark their work with their own stamp untainted by a steady stream of differing and protracted studio notes and constant cost-cutting measures. However, with Civil War already deep into post-production and Doctor Strange nearing production, this leaves only one more question...
