Ball's electrifying visuals are accentuated at almost all times by a pulsing, energetic score from Josh Paesano, who also worked on the two prior films.

This is easily the most evocative and memorable score of the three, though, and while most YA fare tends to settle for generic, workmanlike music without really trying to muster much impact, it feels like far more effort was put into the soundscape here.

It's a shame the series never got its own distinctive theme, a pervasive problem in much of contemporary blockbuster cinema, but the musical score nevertheless does a fantastic job elevating the excitement during the numerous set-pieces.
