MCU: 10 Actors Who Redefined Their Characters

3. Vincent D'Onofrio (Wilson Fisk)

Captain America
Netflix

Marvel's Netflix shows are a bit w*nk, in this writer's humble opinion. They try so hard to be respectable, prestige television dramas, they sacrifice the fun and wonder of Marvel's films in favor of dour, same-y bleakness.

That said, like the films, these shows know how to pick their actors, and Vincent D'Onofrio was an absolute A-plus pick for the role of Kingpin in the first season of Daredevil. Already one of the more compelling villains in Daredevil and Spider-Man's shared rogues gallery as a pragmatic and cunning crime lord, D'Onofrio took him one step further and absolutely stole the show.

Reminiscent of his role as "Private Pyle" Lawrence in Full Metal Jacket, D'Onofrio turns Kingpin into a wounded animal: a quietly menacing mob boss who in a flash can turn into a horrifying monster. From eerie monologues about good Samaritans, to crushing someone with a car door after feeling disrespected, D'Onofrio 100 percent justifies the tone of Marvel's Netflix shows with his performance.

So now the question is, when the heck do we get to see him force Spidey into some dark territory?
