MCU: 10 Best Phase 4 Characters So Far
1. Yelena Belova
It took Natasha Romanoff 11 years to finally get her own solo movie, which unfortunately came after she sacrificed herself on Vormir in Avengers: Endgame, and after Carol Danvers robbed her of the opportunity to be the MCU’s first headlining female superhero.
After all this, when her movie finally released... she was outshined by her sister.
Played by the excellent Florence Pugh, Yelena Belova was easily the best part about Black Widow. She struck the ever sought after balance between humour, emotion, and action, and was utterly compelling every moment she was on the screen.
She was wonderfully sarcastic, developed a striking partnership with Natasha that would have been great to see even more of, and had one of the most heart wrenching moments in the entire movie. She really did have it all, and it’s no mystery as to why fans are already obsessed with her.
Thankfully, she will be reprising her role in Hawkeye before 2021 is over, but hopefully this is only the beginning. Black Widow director Cate Shortland teased the possibility of continuing the franchise with Yelena at the helm, and with her seemingly a big part of whatever Val has going on, it looks like she could play a big role in the MCU for years to come.
