With the announcement of the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in 2021, fans were naturally excited by the prospect of both Scott Derrickson and Benedict Cumberbatch returning for the titular character's sequel. What we didn't expect was the inclusion of Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch to accompany the Sorcerer Supreme.

Pairing these two characters makes a lot of sense, as they have a history in the comics; both have incredible, bizarre powers, and are both two of the strongest heroes in the entire MCU. Strange has gone from a student in 2016 and grown through Infinity War and Endgame to become a key part of the universe's defences. Wanda has also gotten stronger with each movie she has appeared in, and was so close to defeating Thanos all by herself in Endgame.

While it makes sense, there is no indication as to what role Wanda will play in the movie. All we know is that it will directly connect with the events of the WandaVision Disney+ series.

Will the dynamic between the two be as simple as Wanda learning from Stephen, or will it be something more? Since Paul Bettany has not been confirmed for this movie, will Wanda be seeking help from the Sorcerer Supreme to save Vision from something in the series? Or could it be to do with finding her brother alive in another universe?
