MCU: 10 Characters Destined To Leave The Franchise In Phase 5
1. The Hulk
Bruce Banner/Hulk seems to be the only character from the original six Avengers lineup with a future in limbo.
It might be safe to argue that Bruce Banner's arc has ended; finding balance between his human conscious and green side, as well as serving more as a scientist than a raging monster. With so many new characters coming to the MCU, phasing Mark Ruffalo's Hulk out of the franchise seems almost inevitable.
Not to mention that we're expecting a She-Hulk show on Disney Plus, maybe the baton will be handed over to a televised version of a big, green strong monster?
Keeping the Hulk within the franchise as a mentor for the new generation would be an interesting turn for the character, but it's a waste of Mark Ruffalo's talents and deflates the excitement of having the Hulk on screen.
Mark Ruffalo was contracted for six films when he first signed on. Having appeared in five (let's not include the Iron Man 3 cameo) he still has one film left to fulfil. He could make a surprise appearance in one of the Phase 4 films, but given Mark's work schedule right now, it seems more likely he'll be exiting in a Phase 5 film.
