MCU: 10 Characters Who Will Definitely Survive Phase 3

Scarlett Johansson is one of the longest-serving members of the MCU, having first appeared in Iron Man 2 and made four further appearances since then, becoming a key part of both the Captain America trilogy and the Avengers. We also know that Natasha Romanoff will be in Infinity War, and back again for Avengers 4.

Why She'll Survive

As mentioned with the Hulk, Marvel aren't likely to just suddenly wipe out all of their original Avengers, and the same point stands here: Chris Evans seems likely to bow out, while Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr. could go either way., but Johansson looks safe. She's been topping up her contract as she's gone along, rather than signing one big multi-picture deal, and that should be easy to continue going forwards.

Black Widow is Marvel's major female superhero, and it'd be a massive shame if her entire tenure in the MCU came and went without a solo movie. It's something Kevin Feige has looked at, and Johansson is a big enough star to carry such a movie. Feige's previous comments have said it's something they want to do and are committed to figuring out, so it feels nailed-on this will finally happen in Phase 4, while Romanoff is a great fit to help lead a new team.
