6. Black Panther

Black Panther made an indelible first impression in Captain America: Civil War, serving as a total bulletproof badass capable of going toe-to-toe with any of the other heroes. That's leading in to his own film, which arrives next February and - based on the recent trailer - looks brilliant, before appearances in Infinity War and probably Avengers 4.

Why He'll Survive

Chadwick Boseman reportedly signed a five-picture deal with Marvel, which would mean that once Phase 3 is done with he's still got one movie to come.

That'll surely be another solo outing, because the first Black Panther movie is shaping up to be a real winner, but it would be a surprise if it didn't get extended beyond that too. These first appearances are only the beginning of his arc, and shouldn't be close to the end.

He's one of the many new core heroes coming through at the end of Phase 3, and it's on people like him and Brie Larson's Danvers to take things forward in Phase 4, both in terms of individual movies and team-up events.
