MCU: 10 Fascinating Facts Behind Ant-Man (2015)
7. Reed Wanted A Hilarious Say Anything Easter Egg
Considering the history with Edgar Wright's alternate vision for Ant-Man, there are obviously lots of scenes we could have seen, but one of the scenes we definitely know about that almost made it into the film was all Peyton Reed.
According to him, he wanted to have another exchange between Luis and Scott showing the nature of their relationship as soon as we meet them together. He wanted Michael Pena's hilarious Luis to pick Scott up at the prison on his release and to be holding his iPhone above his head playing "In Your Eyes" as a reference to the classic John Cusack movie moment.
Unfortunately, the song was too expensive and the idea had to be dropped. In the end, we got almost the exact same Say Anything Easter Egg in Deadpool instead, because Fox have deeper pockets, apparently.
