The commentary also offers some interesting tidbits on how some of the bigger scenes were achieved. For instance, the Wakandan battle sequence only included 70 extras originally (still a fair number, of course), who were boosted out to 500 or so using digital methods.
They were apparently up against 10,000 aliens, so it's remarkable that they even made it through to the Decimation. And speaking of those aliens, Rocket refers to them as "space dogs" because someone in an early test screening called them “space dogs” on the score sheet. Everyone thought it was too funny not to reference in the film itself.
You'd have thought this sort of huge story would take a long time, but it turns out - according to the audio commentary from the film-makers on the blu-ray release - that the entire story takes no more than 2 days in total. How quickly the world goes to Hell...
