MCU: 10 Fascinating Facts Behind Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
3. Edgar Wright Was Rumoured To Have Re-Written The Film
One of the weirdest rumours that abounded during the movie's production was the involvement of Edgar Wright, who scuttlebutt indicated had given the script a re-write before shooting started. Wright was of course originally supposed to write and direct Ant-Man, but left the production due to "creative differences."
With regards to The First Avenger, Wright publicly denied any involvement when asked, and the only outside talent confirmed to work on the script was Joss Whedon, who added minor character shading while tailoring the film a little closer to the wider MCU.
Indeed, the bulk of the credit goes to credited screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who have written all three Cap movies, in addition to Thor: The Dark World (!), Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
