The Milano has become one of the most recognisable ships in the MCU, with appearances in Vol 2 and Infinity War alongside its debut here, but the source of its name is both not exactly what you'd expect from Marvel, and also entirely fitting with Peter Quill's character.

As confirmed by director James Gunn in a tweet, Quill named his ship after his childhood crush, Alyssa Milano. Quill was born in 1980, with Milano making her film debut in coming-of-age comedy Old Enough in 1984, followed by an appearance in Commando the next year.
