2. Pepper's Necklace Is VERY Personal

Nothing says grand romantic gestures like taking things out of your body and giving them as a gift to your beloved. There's something poetic about it really. Something disgusting too, of course, but poetic all the same.

That's clearly why Tony Stark gives Pepper Potts a necklace made out of things that come out of one of his orifices. In the epilogue, he presents Pepper with the trinket as a token of his love, but it turns out to be a symbol of his survival too, because she made him want to live again.

The necklace is made of the pieces of shrapnel that are removed from his chest that were thought to be unremovable.
