MCU: 10 Fascinating Facts Behind The Incredible Hulk (2008)

1. Hulk Was Initially Intended To Be The Avengers' Villain

That post-credits scene bringing Tony Stark in to the end of Hulk's story was a nice addition and a good moment for fans, but it's essentially nonsense.

Thanks to changes in the direction of the MCU, pretty much everything Stark says in that scene makes no sense. He's there to recruit the Abomination as a member of the Avengers - which was always a bad idea - and to offer the team's services to help deal with Hulk.

The suggestion there is that Hulk was going to be the bad-guy in the expected Avengers team-up movie (which was still very much uncertain at this point).

Additionally, The Abomination was going to return as a supporting villain in one draft of Avengers: Age of Ultron, but he was cut in the end.
