MCU: 10 Phase 3 Rumours That Turned Out To Be Bull

3. Spider-Man: Homecoming Will Be Set In The Savage Land

Back in 2015 before Spider-Man: Homecoming even had a proper title, one of the more far-fetched rumours to emerge was that Marvel would set the movie in the Savage Land – a tropical enclave tucked away in a corner of Antarctica that’s home to barbaric tribes and dinosaurs and the like where Spidey had previously travelled to and fought T-Rexes and other such daring stuff.

Mostly taking place in Peter Parker’s suburban Queens neighbourhood, the eventual setting we got in Spider-Man: Homecoming however was a little less exotic than the Savage Land.

As bizarre a setting as the Savage Land may seem, some fans are hoping it could still crop up in Phase 4 when Spider-Man: Far From Home is released in 2019 despite intel so far suggesting it’s mostly set in Europe. The chances are slim but we may see Tom Holland wrestle a T-Rex yet.
